Succession season 3 has already been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series was slated to begin filming in April 2020, but the schedule wasn't followed because of the health crisis. Despite that, fans have been getting updates on the latest installment -- particularly the casting news.

According to the recent report from Variety, three new faces are joining the rest of the cast in Succession season 3. The Affair and Shots Fired actress Sanaa Lathan is confirmed to be playing the role of Lisa Arthur, a "well-connected New York lawyer."

Considering the nature of the story, Lathan's character may play a huge part in the Roy family. She could be the one representing them in times of need. Lodge 49 alum Linda Emond, on the other hand, also plays a significant part in the third outing.

She is going to portray Michelle-Anne Vanderhoven, a senior White House aide. Given that politics and business tend to collide within this world, Emond's character could have a vital role in further shaking up the world of the Roy family.

Lastly, South Korean singer and actress Jihae is set to play the character of Berry Schneider in Succession season 3. She is considered as one of the "high-powered" PR consultants. Just like the first two characters, this latest addition could either be an ally or foe to the Roys.

Meanwhile, details about the production of the third installment remain scarce at the moment. But, just previously, one fan shared a photo featuring Jeremy Strong (who plays Kendall Roy) filming the latest season in New York City.

Back in 2020, Strong revealed during The Late Late Show with James Corden that the cast and crew will start filming before the year ends. At the time, he noted that the production is "imminent" and "looming," and that he's ready to start working again.

As for the plot of Succession season 3, it'll pick up the cliffhanger at the end of season 2. The company remains to be a huge part of the story. Logan Roy's (Brian Cox) children are doing everything in order to get the position that they want.

The Roy family is the owner of the conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. When Logan experienced a decline in health, he begins searching for his business successor. His four children -- Connor (Alan Ruck), Kendall, Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) -- are all competing for prominence in the company.

Succession season 3 has no official release date as of this writing, but it is expected to premiere in the middle of 2021.
