In the NBA, it comes as no surprise that it has become a tradition for regions to burn old jerseys of NBA stars who leave them. The Houston Rockets are no exception following that blockbuster trade that happened just recently.

Harden is now with the Brooklyn Nets, the same team he wanted to join in the first place. Though it took quite a while to close, the gist of it all is that a lot of Rockets fans are unhappy. The old Rockets 13 jersey is now useless though some may still keep theirs as memorabilia.

But some fans are pretty upset. That includes business owner Sean Qureshi who is offering free car wash in exchange for old James Harden jerseys. The offer is limited to the first 50 customers, TMZ reported.

What would Qureshi do with all those jerseys? He has a devious plan in mind – that of which is to burn them once Harden returns to Houston in a Brooklyn Nets uniform. Though the 2018 NBA MVP is unlikely to care, it is one of many things expected to be highlighted when “The Beard” returns as an opponent.

"I'm gonna make sure with local fire department just to make sure everything is on the up and up. But if they allow me to, whenever Harden comes back for the first game with the Nets, I'm burning them all that day," Qureshi stated.

Unless there are changes to the NBA schedule, the Nets are scheduled to visit the Rockets in Mar. 3. That is less than two months from now with Harden likely already accustomed to the system of Steve Nash by then.

For now, Harden is expected to be busy trying to fit in with the Nets. He reunites with Kevin Durant, a former teammate from their OKC Thunder days and former coach Mike D’Antoni. The former Rockets coach’s familiarity with the all-star guard is expected to help in the smooth transition of Harden with the Nets.

If he can provide a negative COVID-19 test result, Harden could make his Nets debut as early as Saturday CBS Sports reported. Brooklyn will face the Orlando Magic and need all the help they can get.

The Nets lost four players in the Harden deal, namely Caris LeVert, Jarret Allen, Taurean Prince and Rodions Kurucs. Nash is expected to explore the market for added help, possibly a center and a point guard.
