BTS loves wearing accessories. From necklaces to bracelets — they love sporting them all. But one accessory that RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are often seen wearing are earrings.
The boys love wearing earrings so much that even J-Hope, who promised to never pierce his ears, opts to wear ear cuffs during their performances, interviews, appearances, and more. But as years go by, the older members rarely use them.
As for the younger boys, especially Jimin and Jungkook, they still wear earrings almost daily. While ARMYs know how much BTS love this particular accessory, not all of them know the backstory of their piercings.
Jimin previously shared how he got his first piercing with ARMYs. During one of his earlier live broadcasts, a fan asked the “Filter” singer if his earrings are comfortable to wear. The question prompted JM to talk about his piercings.
As it turns out, there was no extraordinary story behind Jimin’s piercings. He got his first one just like how most people did — by an impulse decision.
Jimin shared that he was going to meet up with V and some friends one weekend. JM and another friend arrived on time, but the “Sweet Night” singer was late. Instead of waiting for him while doing nothing, the 25-year-old singer, songwriter, and dancer decided to do something spontaneous.
“I just kept waiting for him. But after about an hour and a half, there are these stands in subway stations. And there was an earring stand. I had nothing else to do, so I thought ‘should I get my ears pierced?’ Then just sad down, and got my ears pierced there,” he said.
Jimin ended up waiting for V for about 2-3 hours. But the bright side of the “Winter Bear” singer’s tardiness is that JM got his first piercing and realized how much he likes it. In fact, it led the popular idol to get two more after that.
The BTS star then shared that he wanted to get one on his helix. However, his ears don’t heal well, so it’s not very ideal for him. But he told the fans that “it didn’t really hurt” when he got his ears pierced.
Thanks to V, Jimin now sports a couple of earrings even during his downtime. It’s no secret that it’s one of his favorite accessories.
