Tariq St. Patrick's journey will continue in Power Book II: Ghost season 2. Starz renewed the second installment just a few weeks after the official premiere of season 1. The story in the first run seemingly comes to an end, but Michael Rainey Jr.'s character is about to face more adversaries moving forward.

Since the trial Tariq's mother, Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton), is over, Power Book II: Ghost season 2 will open new stories. It leaves the door open for introducing new enemies within this world. As per CarterMatt, several names could serve as the major villains in the next chapter.

For instance, Cane Tejada (Woody McClain) could become a thorn on Tariq's side. There's already a rivalry between them during the first season, which could further play out along the way. Despite their apparent feud, they also recognized that they might need each other in the future.

Caridad "Carrie" Milgram (Melanie Liburd) is another person on the list. While she's an unconventional choice, she could still make Tariq's life complicated in Power Book II: Ghost season 2. She knows a lot about the Tejada family, and she could use these against them.

Effie (Alix Lapri) is the former business partner/girlfriend of Tariq. She could be an interesting adversary on his side in the next chapter, as well. Although she feels something for him, she also betrayed him in the past. There is a possibility that she'll do it again -- especially if it benefits her.

But, perhaps, Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) might be one of the major adversaries on Tariq's side in Power Book II: Ghost season 2. Throughout the first installment, he's determined to ruin whatever he has. He won't stop until he brings the St. Patrick family down.

Aside from these names, new characters could also emerge and will shake up Tariq's life. The second installment may introduce a new story, which wasn't similar to the first season. Tariq will enter another new world where he'll meet his future allies, as well as enemies.

Meanwhile, there is a question of whether or not Tasha is returning in the next outing. The first season saw her storyline reaching finality. She got out of prison and currently under witness protection. This leaves her future in the series hanging.

Speaking to a previous interview with TVLine, showrunner/creator Courtney Kemp said that Tariq has no control of where Tasha is heading in Power Book II: Ghost season 2. He will try to look for his mother, who may go missing, eventually.
