Kylian Mbappe wearing a Los Blancos shirt next season would be a dream-come-true for Real Madrid fans and the French superstar's recent statement further fueled the conversation that the La Liga giants need to acquire the Paris Saint-Germain striker. However, bringing Mbappe to Bernabeu will not be an easy task for Zinedine Zidane.

The PSG ace seemed an easy catch for Real and that appeared to be the core message of his statement during an interview with Spanish publication AS. Mbappe is in the middle of a negotiation to extend his stay at Parc des Princes and he made clear that it will be a hard decision to make.

The star indicated that accepting a deal extending his stay in Paris beyond 2022 will require a lot of thinking and consideration. Mbappe appeared to be dropping hints that it's not his preference to stay with PSG too long, meaning if a better offer comes along then he'd grab that opportunity.

Mbappe's words could be taken as an encouragement for suitors to make their move and Real Madrid could be prodded to present an offer that France international will find hard to resist. But according to The Daily Mail, Mbappe is too expensive for Bernabeu given the club's current financial standing.

Real's cash flow is not as healthy as before since the games are being played without spectators, thus resulting in an estimated revenue hit of £550 million. Also, the club will need to start the repayment of a £500 loan that was used to renovate the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

It seemed clear that the club cannot afford to finance a blockbuster deal with Mbappe at this time and the cost is yet to factor in the PSG forward's salary. Reports said the Parisian's extension offer to the star dangles a monthly salary of over £30 million when Real can only give around £18 million.

So it can be concluded that the La Liga giants are not in a strong position to make a bid on Mbappe too soon. At the very least, gig adjustments will need to be made to complete the deal such as the selling of players and giving the star considerable concession to compensate for his reduced wages.

And this should not be the case, The Real Champs reported, adding that the ideal scenario for Real is to focus first on balancing their accounts before splurging on the purchase of Mbappe.

It would be best too if the club will postpone the signing and focus on the development of young talents such as Martin Odegaard, Dani Ceballos, and Luka Jovic (all currently on loan). The wise thing to do for Real is to spend on areas where the money is needed like investing in additional defensive talents, said the same report.
