Fans speculated that Money Heist season 5 has wrapped up production after series stars Álvaro Morte (as The Professor) and Najwa Nimri (Alicia Sierra) shared updates on their Instagram accounts. The release date of the fifth installment might just be around the corner if the speculations are true.

Recently, both Morte and Nimri shared a heartfelt message on their Instagram stories. They thanked Netflix's team for their hard work on Money Heist season 5. The posts, however, prompted fans to believe that production is now finished and the announcement of the premiere will be followed.

Some speculated that the posts of the two cast members teased that production has ended. Although the note was written in Spanish, fans provided translation regarding the content. One fan on Reddit said they were saying goodbye to the series "with style and create a campaign for all the fans of the world."

Money Heist season 5 will be the final installment of the crime-drama and there'll be a lot of preparations that come along with it. Even if the filming is done, a lot  of things are needed to be considered before announcing the official release date.

Reportedly, an April premiere is unlikely due to the delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The series started production in August 2020, and filming takes around six months to be finished. After that, post-production works must be done before Netflix dropped the 10 episodes.

Despite the uncertainties surrounding the premiere, fans were optimistic the announcement will be made soon. Another fan noted that if the cast and crew finished filming, that would mean that they're "a lot closer to the release date."

As for the story, Money Heist season 5 needs to tie all the loose ends left in the season 4 finale. There were also different theories on how the story will conclude. Some suspected that The Professor makes a sacrifice to save Tokyo (Ursula Corbero).

Tokyo has always considered The Professor as her "guardian angel," and fans believe there's a deep meaning why she calls him this way. Corbero's character has been narrating the story since the beginning, suggesting that she's the one surviving member of the gang.

In a previous post from Reddit, one fan explained why Tokyo is the narrator. The story is likely set in the present and she's just recounting what happened to her and the gang. The fan added that she called The Professor her guardian angel since he sacrificed himself so she could live.

Series creator Alex Pina already teased that Money Heist season 5 won't be a happy ending for the gang. He said that they've been trying to figure out how to destroy the band and put them in irreversible situations. The result is the fifth installment, which serves as the series finale.
