Years have passed since the public last heard and witnessed Girls' Generation's performance. As fans and followers continue to miss the "legendary" K-Pop idols, rumors about their potential return persist to rise these past few months.

AllKpop recently released a report about the matter, with netizens sharing their excitement. This comes after an unnamed source alleged that the South Korean artists "were discussing a possible comeback in May or June."

As claimed, the members all have different agencies now. But, despite this, the girls have "good relationships with one another." It is, also, reportedly, "true that they are constantly talking about an album."

Following the assertions, many netizens took their thoughts to various social media platforms. Some even insisted that Girls' Generation is likely preparing for their return for their 15th anniversary.

Amid the hopes and excitement of the fandom, Kpop Starz dropped an article discussing the rumors on Friday. As reported, the group's label SM Entertainment released a "warning" before the public, noting that "it has not been decided yet."

The publication countered, though, that the K-Pop artists are, indeed, in constant communication with one another. They are, reportedly, "interacting and discussing group activities" amid their long hiatus.

The same publication continued that this is not the first time when rumors about Girls' Generation's return sparked before the fandom. In 2020 alone, several speculations emerged repeatedly after some of the members seemingly hinted at making a comeback as a group.

Earlier in February 2020, Seohyun shared a stream of her Instagram story, wherein she discussed the mysterious "thing" she had been teasing toward her followers. Although some individuals initially thought that she was referencing her Hello Drama series, the "I Got A Boy" singer clarified that it was not about the drama show.

Months later, the rumors further strengthened its stance among the fans when Sooyoung dropped a shocking announcement about their group. She stated that Girls' Generation "would greet their fans soon," causing many people to believe that they would return in the following months or weeks.

While the members of the all-female K-Pop group have yet to confirm nor deny the rumors, a separate report from Kpop Starz clarified that there will be no new album nor a fan meeting that will happen this year. The report came earlier in January after the comeback rumors expanded their reach.

Girls' Generation launched their debut album in 2007, with nine members comprising the group. This included Seohyun, Sooyoung, Hyonteon, Sunny, Taeyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Tiffany, and Jessica. They became more popular in the scene upon releasing "Gee" in 2009.

A few years later, though, Jessica shocked the fandom when she decided to leave the act. Sooyoung, Seohyun, and Tiffany followed in her footsteps and left SM Entertainment in 2017.
