The K-Pop industry continues to dominate the international music stage in recent years. There are no more doubts about the overall success of many South Korean idols and artists today.

However, not all popular groups and bands from South Korean entertainment are well-known on their own turf. As reported, numerous artists and idols are more successful internationally than nationally, and AllKpop listed some of the most apparent examples.

GOT7 is one of the K-Pop groups that are more famous abroad than in South Korea. The publication said that the all-male band even often receives positive remarks more from their U.S.-based fans than in their own territory. Moreover, in comparison to the volume of their prominence in South Korea, the figure appears to be a lot more in other Asian countries and regions in the West.

Included, as well, on the list is MONSTA X, who just recently dropped their collaboration project with Snoop Dogg. Reports said that their fame in South Korea is "slowly declining" these days. But, the case is different in the international scene as their popularity never, reportedly, fades away.

KARD is, also, another K-Pop group that has been dominating the international scene more than their local stages. The outlet said that updates about the quartet are even rare in South Korea because they are not quite popular in their own country.

The group's genre centers on Tropical House, which is a bit different from what the other bands and idols are offering. This is likely a factor as to why they have more international followers than local fans.

The same publication listed DREAMCATCHER, as well, because they are more famous in European countries than in South Korea. Several netizens, reportedly, believe that this has something to do with their discography, considering that their genre is more inclined on "rock vibes."

On Quora, many individuals, also, had a discussion on which K-Pop groups are more famous abroad than in South Korea. Alongside GOT7 and MONSTA X, several respondents included Stray Kids and ATEEZ, as well.

Meanwhile, other netizens mentioned EVERGLOW and MAMAMOO as some of the all-female groups that have a much larger fandom outside their country. This likely explains why BuzzFeed included these idols and groups in their list of the most "underrated" K-Pop stars of today.

The publication noted numerous other artists, as well, including iKON, Astro, G-idle, A.C.E., DAY6, and GWSN. As explained, while "underrated" is a broad and subjective term to discuss, the community appears to have agreed that the idol groups are "stan-worthy," too.
