New people, including celebrities, are just discovering BTS after their rousing performance at this year's Grammy Awards on March 14 and one of these budding fans is the younger sister of Demi Lovato, Dallas.
Dallas admitted on TikTok that she has been watching BTS videos on YouTube for 12 hours after she saw their Grammy performance. She said that she canceled her work as an acting coach for the day because she got hooked on the popular boy band and "slipped down the purple rabbit hole."
It's a feeling the ARMY, the BTS fandom, knows all too well but they happily welcomed Dallas into the tribe. Many of them said that they remembered their "struggle" as well, as they kept watching videos upon videos of the band for more than 24 hours. Some advised Dallas to slowly take everything in because the number of contents on BTS online can be overwhelming.
Dallas is not the only celebrity who has developed a love for this South Korean music group. Famous DJ and TV host Park Myung Soo said that his family is a big fan of the group but he once rejected BTS when they asked for his picture. He encountered the group at the airport in 2014, before they were massive stars.
Park said that he did not make the same mistake four years later, when they saw each other at the airport again. The TV host obliged them for a photo and felt pride because they were already celebrities at that time, but they were still starstruck on a TV host. Park said that he regretted turning down the boys the first time.
International stage star Lea Salonga is also part of the ARMY and she tuned in to the Grammys to root for the band, which was up for the Best Duo/Group Award. BTS, however, lost to Lady Gaga and Arianna Grande but she still congratulated the boys because they took the loss well.
Salonga said that the boys were "classy, graceful and gracious" and she knows that they will be back at the Grammys next year. The award-winning star said that it was enough for her to watch Suga dance when they performed for the Grammys.
In Hollywood, late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon is a known BTS fan and loves Jimin the best because of their similar names. He loves the boys so much, he asked them to take over his show during a late-night special in 2020.
Young Hollywood heartthrob Ansel Elgort saw BTS perform at the American Music Awards live in 2017. He's such a big fan, he even joined in a video talking about why he loves BTS with other ARMY members from around the world.
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey also likes to watch BTS perform. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the Hollywood big shot said that his son is such a big fan and they watched the band's concert in the U.S. together as a family.
