Funimation drops three Demon Slayer TV specials to retell Tanjiro Kamado's story ahead of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train's release in the U.S. Titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Sibling's Bond, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mt. Natagumo Arc, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hashira Meeting Arc, it will feature different footages, new and old, as it retakes fans to where the anime's adventure all began.

The network surprised fans with an announcement on its official Twitter page that Demon Slayer TV specials would come shortly. According to Comicbook, it was a recap of the anime's first season in a format that viewers would easily understand.

The first season took fans to the tragic story of the siblings Tanjiro and Nezuko. Demons attacked their family that brought them into different paths, resulting in gaining incredible powers to save the world from the hands of a demonic scourge.

Tanjiro later learned that the demons didn't only kill his family. They also turned his sister into a monster herself. However, compared to other afflictions, Nezuko didn't eat people.

Tanjiro then joined an elite band of monster slayers to find a cure for his sister. He became so absorbed in taking his revenge against demons and as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps and Sun Steel, which helped him decapitate every kind of fantastic creature that came on his way.

From here, their story continued in the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie. The film's ending would then resume in the anime's second season.

The international fans would finally see the film as it hits the U.S. theaters on April 23. It was first out in Japan in October and became the "most successful movie" ever released in the country, Game Spot noted.

It even surpassed the over-successful movie of Hayao Miyazaki, Spirited Away, which held the record for about 19 years. The film also had the record of being the 16th biggest foreign film language released worldwide.

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train earned a whopping $377 million, outshining the high-budget mega-blockbuster Hollywood movies, Tenet and Sonic the Hedgehog. This made the movie the fourth-biggest commercial hit of 2020, per Collider.

So, the new Demon Slayer TV specials seem to work as a refresher for fans who want to see the film, which will also drop digitally on June 22. The three new shows were out on Wednesday, April 15.
