Succession season 3 is bringing a lot of new faces once it arrives on HBO. The dark-comedy satirical drama has been sharing a lot of details on what viewers can anticipate, particularly in terms of casting news. There'll be new characters who could have different impacts on the lives of the Roy family.

Recently, it was confirmed that True Blood alum Alexander Skarsgard will be part of the upcoming Succession season 3. He is set to play the role of Lukas Matsson, a "confrontational tech founder." Right now, however, it remains to be seen whether he's a friend or a foe to the Roy family.

The patriarch, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), faces a lot of challenges in the family's empire, the Waystar RoyCo. In season 2, his second son, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), turned his back against him. He wants to gain more power and he's going to seek revenge for treating him badly before.

Yet, Logan won't back down and he'll do everything to have the upper hand. Amidst the chaos surrounding him, the patriarch will try to find ways to secure his family, financial alliances, most especially the Waystar Roy Co. He needs to be prepared since there is an imminent war coming in Succession season 3.

The Waystar RoyCo remains to be the major focus, with Logan's children competing for prominence in the company. His four children Connor (Alan Ruck), Kendall, Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) are all vying for the higher position in their father's empire.

Meanwhile, in addition to Skarsgard, several new cast members were previously announced to be joining Succession season 3. For instance, The Affair and Shots Fired actress Sanaa Lathan will be playing the character of the "well-connected New York lawyer," Lisa Arthur.

South Korean singer and actress Jihae is set to portray the "high-powered" PR consultant, Berry Schneider. Lodge 49 alum Linda Emond will be the senior White House aide, Michelle-Anne Vanderhoven. The three of them will have a vital role in the Roy family.

In addition, Your Honor star Hope Davis is going to recur in the next outing. She plays the role of Sandy Furness's (Larry Pine) daughter, Sandi Furness. Her father has been one of the major rivals of Logan and her presence could mean more troubles for the family in the future.

Succession season 3 official release date remains unknown as of this writing, but the latest installment is expected to come out later this 2021 on HBO.
