The much-awaited Friends: The Reunion will finally come to the small screen and reveals a set of A-list guests, including BTS. The announcement hypes the show more, but it looks like the ARMY and fans alike have to manage their expectations of the boys' appearance.

BTS may not have a major role to play in Friends: The Reunion. As HBO Max clears the upcoming special will not be a new episode of the series, director Ben Winston reveals RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook will not act here.

According to Koreaboo, the boys are known fans of the iconic sitcom. RM even revealed before he learned English from watching the show.

So, after their appearance's confirmation, their followers couldn't help but get excited to see them on the show. As expected, they already made their own theories about what roles they are going to play, but Winston wanted them to manage their expectations.

In reply to the veteran ARMY translator Modooborahae on Twitter, he said BTS would only have a "really short moment" on screen. They would only be seen in a "brief interview segment," where they would reveal why they liked Friends.

Though this revelation seemed to disappoint fans, they thanked Winston for being honest, anyway. To recall, HBO Max said in an official statement, via Hollywood Reporter, that Friends: The Reunion would not be a new original episode of the series but a sole reunion of the original cast.

Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer will be revisiting their old sets, unveiling fun surprises and sharing behind-the-scenes footages. They will not be reprising their roles as Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, Joey, Rachel, and Ross, but appearing as themselves.

Other stars that will join the sextet are Lady Gaga, Malala Yousafzai, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, James Corden, and more, Bazaar noted. BTS will complete the list of the largest and brightest set of guest stars that a show will ever have.

Finally, Friends: The Reunion has finished filming after several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was supposed to be out during HBO Max's launch last year, but the virus did not permit them to do so.

Instead, it will be now out on the first anniversary of HBO's streaming platform on May 27. In no time, fans will see the fan-favorite group of friends, bringing in major nostalgia as they once again relive the '90s sitcom that has been loved by many.
