Prince William and Kate Middleton had the chance to speak with the stars of the Disney movie Cruella, Emma Stone and Emma Thompson. The royal couple joked with Stone as she revealed her crazy motorcycle ride around Buckingham Palace during their filming.

During the video chat with the actresses, Stone, who is not British, said that she had an amazing time filming Cruella in London. She told William and Middleton that they worked on an adrenaline-fueled scene around Buckingham Palace with the actress on the motorcycle.

At which point, William joked that he should have stopped Stone's dangerous activity at his grandmother's house. The actress shot back and said that she did get away with it even if the palace guards were around.

Stone also said that she had to wear a huge wig and a lot of makeup as her character and a crowd of demonstrators near their set location thought she was a drag queen. The actress said that she might have looked like a llama as she was forced to ride the London tube with her costume on.

Speaking of costumes, Thompson said that she enjoyed wearing the elaborate outfits for the Disney movie. The veteran actress said that the '70s costume have been unbelievable and she also joked that she might have worn some of it during her younger years. Thompson, who is a multi-awarded British actress, added that William and Middleton, as well as Stone, will not remember '70s fashion because they are all too young.

The royals and the stars also discussed the challenges of filming during a pandemic with social distancing enforced. Cruella filmed in several locations across England but some were shot using CGI as well.

William and Middleton hosted the outdoor movie screening of Cruella for the NHS frontliners during their royal tour of Scotland. The couple chose to ride a customized Land Rover that used to belong to Prince Philip. According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge borrowed the car from Queen Elizabeth.

Middleton also gave a speech before the screening of Cruella and said that she's delighted to be able to host a fun movie, that transports them to 1970s Britain, with the NHS staff in Scotland. Thompson and Stone also acknowledged the frontliners, especially for their sacrifices during the pandemic.

Cruella is the backstory of the iconic Disney villain, Cruella de Vil. It tackles how the evil character of the animated movie 101 Dalmatians came to be. The film also stars Emily Beecham, Mark Strong, Joel Fry and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. The movie has been streaming on Disney+ since May 28.
