Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's beauty-queen wife is expected to plead guilty this week to federal charges of helping the Mexican drug lord run his cartel, reports said Wednesday.

A 32-year-old former beauty queen with dual U.S.-Mexican citizenship, Emma Coronal Aispuro was arrested at Washington's Dulles International Airport in February.

The U.S.-born Coronal Aispuro will appear in a Washington U.S. District Court Thursday to enter her plea, according to The New York Times.

She is facing international drug trafficking charges for her alleged involvement in a conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana in the U.S.

Drug-trafficking charges carry a maximum of life in prison. Coronal Aispuro faces a fine of $10 million if convicted.

Her plea deal will not make it mandatory for her to cooperate with U.S. authorities or give information about her husband's business associates or relatives, the Times said.

Jeffrey Lichtman, Coronal Aispuro's lawyer, declined to comment.

Prosecutors accuse Coronal, known as the "Kardashian of Sinaloa," of acting as a go-between for her drug kingpin husband and his alleged cartel allies to help run the drug cartel.

Coronal is also accused of helping plot El Chapo's 2015 escape from Mexico's Altiplano jail facility through a mile-long tunnel dug from his cell.

She's also accused of helping plan another jailbreak once her husband was recaptured the following year.

El Chapo was sentenced to life in prison and is currently in a super maximum federal prison in Colorado.
