TLC has officially cut ties with the Duggar family after canceling their show, "Counting On," after 11 seasons following Josh Duggar's arrest in April.
Jinger Duggar and her husband Jeremy Vuolo have broken their silence about the "Counting On" cancellation. The couple is now closing a big chapter in their lives after being part of the show since it started in 2015.
The two share their official statement on Instagram - supporting TLC's decision to cancel the show. "We wholeheartedly agree with TLC's decision not to renew 'Counting On' and are excited for the next chapter in our lives," it reads.
Jinger and Jeremy thank TLC for giving them the chance to be part of its network and the kindness it shows to their family. They call their stay with the company "a remarkable journey" that allows them to travel and experience the world.
They also thank their fans, friends and the reality series' staff and crew for showing them love and support. Despite the show's end, they are now looking forward to continuing their journey in Los Angeles, where they are now living.
"Counting On" started airing in 2015 as a spinoff of the original series "19 Kids and Counting" that ran from 2008 to 2015.
In a statement TLC sent to People, the network confirmed the long-running series' ending.
"TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On," it says. "TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately."
The "situation" alludes to the scandal that involves the Duggar family member, Josh. Jinger's brother was arrested in Arkansas and charged with "possession of child pornography."
He filed for a not-guilty plea.
To recall, the network also canceled "19 Kids and Counting" several months after an unearthed 2006 police report revealed Josh was accused of molesting five underage girls when he was a teenager, E! News noted.
Josh issued a public apology then and said his parents, Jim and Michelle Duggar, arranged to counsel him and his victims. Later, her two sisters, Jill and Jessa Duggar, came forward as casualties, though he was never charged.
Anyhow, Josh is now waiting for his trial in November after his release on bail following his April arrest. In his hearing in May, federal agents accused him of downloading child pornography in 2019.
His lawyer told E! that they intended to defend his case "aggressively and thoroughly." Though no one can stop the prosecutors from making charges, they will make sure they will fight back in the courtroom.
