"My Hero Academia" Season 5 Episode 17 will return its focus on the main heroes, Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki. However, before the much-awaited Meta Liberation Army arc begins, it looks like there will be another filler episode.

The heroes are about to face a new problem with the threat of the Meta Liberation Army's arrival. Everyone now prepares to meet these new enemies and fans are about to see more of it in "My Hero Academia" Season 5 Episode 17.

According to Recent Highlights, the anime has taken a different route from the original manga as it now produces "branched filler episodes." Though the next episode will be filler, it is still a must-see.

Episode 17 will mainly focus on Todoroki's family and their relationship. It has been known that Endeavor has an icy relationship with his children.

However, now that Todoroki is working at his father's agency, things between the two are getting better. Deku and Bakugo visit the Todoroki house that may help to change the latter's relation to his father.

Deku's emotional and sensitive behavior may play a major role in this part and help Endeavor get closer to his family. The Cinemaholic noted Deku and Bakugo would see how dysfunctional the Todoroki family is in "My Hero Academia" Season 5 Episode 17.

The two will realize that the man Bakugo used to be may not be as kind as expected. They may have an idea of what happened to Todoroki before and how that had affected each one of them.

Anyhow, Deku believes Shouto is ready to forgive his father. Before they leave the household, Fuyumi may tell Deku how grateful she is that he has become Shouto's friend.

From here, an old enemy of Endeavor may emerge and take Natsuo hostage. Endeavor may now reveal how good of a father he is by making a desperate move to save his son.

In "My Hero Academia" Season 5 Episode 16, Selkie revealed Trigger was an illegal drug similar to the Quirk booster drug, OtakuKart News noted. This drug could enhance the Quirks and multiplies its power - making it incredibly strong.

The girls discussed how the drugs got stolen timely before the factory exploded. Elsewhere, the ship captain at sea saw someone on an identified vessel.

The mysterious individual injected something into his neck and went berserk - releasing a smokescreen. The captain told Oki Marine to break through the smokescreen and realized the guy used Trigger.

They got through the smokescreen, but they lost the signal and realized the boat seemed to be hiding somewhere. The captain then talked about the Dragon Hero: Ryuku, who could help them fight off the enemies.

From here, Sea Rescue Hero: Selkie received a message from Ryukyu. "My Hero Academia" Season 5 Episode 17 will be released Saturday, July 24.
