Sony's big restock of the PlayStation 5 went down so fast today. Both the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition consoles dropped at exactly 6 pm PT and 9 pm ET, and while not all got their prize, there's still a chance to get the company's latest console.

Best Buy PS5 Restock Date

Best Buy used to supply PS5s on Friday afternoons, but the shop has been known to restock on Thursdays and even Mondays. In other words, it no longer adheres to a predetermined pattern.

Here are a few things to bear in mind: Best Buy's drops always take place in the afternoons (between 12 pm ET and 3 pm ET), and the consoles are always available at list price: $499 for the PS5 and $399 for the PS5 Digital.

Amazon PS5 Restock Date

Nobody knows when Amazon will sell PS5 systems, or if it will sell any at all. However, the surprise PS5 restock on Prime Day shows that anything is possible. In fact, Amazon PS5 restocks are the most erratic, typically occurring overnight. Another thing to bear in mind is that Amazon restocks are notorious for selling out in seconds.

Target PS5 Restock Date

Target restock dates for the PS5 have been difficult to determine. This is due to the retailer's tendency to drop inventory in specific locations. For example, a person in Chicago may see PS5 inventory at their local store, whereas a person in New York may not see any inventory at all. In addition, Target does early morning restocking at about 8 a.m. ET. Having said that, their most recent restock sold out in minutes.

PS5 Restock - Track on Twitter

Following the Sony Twitter account is one of the greatest ways to find out when PS5 restock arrives at online shops. We also recommend following Twitter accounts like @PS5StockAlerts, @GYXdeals, @mattswider, @PS5Drop, and @Wario64, which are often the first to have availability information.

Remember that PS5 restock availability can be localized and limited to specific stores.

Where to Check for Next Restock

There is no PS5 restock available in major stores as of Aug. 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET. A few hours ago, Sam's Club replenished the PS5 bundle, immediately running out within minutes.

The next major PS5 release could come through Sony Direct, which has yet to restock this month.

If you're starting to break and thinking of getting a PS5 right now (and we know that with the number of major PS5 titles set to drop over the next few months, the pressure is on), you can do so, but at a hefty markup on sites like eBay and StockX. On eBay, for example, we've seen PS5 units costing more than $1,000. We believe it is worthwhile to wait and get the PS5 at the regular price.
