On Monday, one of the final batches of stimulus checks for the year 2021 will be placed into the bank accounts of tens of millions of Americans.

There are only two more payments to make. One will be released on Nov. 15, and the final installment will be released on Dec. 15. Next year, new batches are expected. According to BGR, when families file their federal tax returns, they will receive a tax credit.

The six stimulus checks implemented this year, which began in July, were a new solution to the health crisis. The money came from a $1.9 trillion stimulus package that Congress approved in March. Among other things, that bill enhanced the standard amount of the Child Tax Credit.

If this had been a regular year, a larger tax credit for eligible households when they submitted their taxes in 2022 would have sufficed. The tax credit is structured in such a way that half of it is paid out in cash upfront to Americans. It was also spread out over several months.

If you have received a deposit into your IRS bank account, the first thing you should know is that it is not a fourth stimulus payment from the federal government. It is, in fact, a "plus-up" payment. Not a fourth stimulus check, but money owed to you from the third stimulus check.

According to the IRS, the stimulus payment was tied to a taxpayer's adjusted gross income on their tax returns. As a result, an additional payment is simply money due to someone who did not receive the precise amount in the prior stimulus payment.

The IRS Get My Payment tracking tool has helped determine the status of stimulus checks and deposits, but it does not provide information on stimulus plus-up payments.

"Do not call the IRS. Our telephone assistants have no more information than what is accessible on IRS.gov," the IRS website advises.

Meanwhile, residents of California are eligible for up to $1,100 in stimulus funds. Direct deposits were initially made around the end of October, followed by paper checks. The latter procedure began on November 1st, so if you haven't already received one, you should get one this week.

California's tax rebate is thought to be the largest in the country's history. About 70% of the state's population is expected to get a check for at least $600 as part of California's Golden State Stimulus II program.
