Song Joong-ki may be busy, but he is now mourning the death of his grandmother. Various media outlets claimed Song Hye-kyo's former husband had lost his grandma on Sunday, Nov. 28.

Reports about the passing of Soong Jong-ki's grandmother only emerged now, the same day the funeral was held early this morning. AllKpop noted only close family members were present at the event.

His grandmother is said to call him "pretty," which he always strongly opposed. In an online fan meeting, via Pinkvilla, the actor revealed his parents had always wanted to have a daughter, so they would usually tie his hair in fountain ponies.

They would always call him pretty that made him so angry. In fact, he would usually get mad at anyone who would call him that.

Meanwhile, despite grieving, the 36-year-old star is, reportedly, preparing for his next big role in the new JTBC series "The Youngest Son of the Chaebol Family." In fact, in a post on Instagram, he revealed he now had the show's script.

As expected, fans could not contain their excitement, knowing they would see Song Joong-ki again on the small screen. This time, he would be paired up with the "Hospital Playlist" star Shin Hyun-been.

Aside from Hyun-been, Park Ji-hyun will join the cast as Mo Hyun-min. This woman has the best of everything and will even marry Yoon Hyun-woo (Song Joong-ki).

The actress's agency, Namoo Actors, confirmed the news and revealed she was about to start filming. "The Youngest Son of the Chaebol Family" is written by Kim Tae-hee, who is also behind the success of "Designated Survivor: 60 Days," "Beautiful Mind" and "Sungkyunkwan Scandal."

Jung Dae Yoon will also direct the series after working on "She Was Pretty" and "W: Two Wordls." This new series is about to be out in 2022 on JTBC.

Meanwhile, Song Joong-ki is sweeping the board as of late. He recently won the Popular Star Award at the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards, along with Goo Kya-hwan, Girls Generation's YoonA and Jeon Yeon-been.

If this is not enough, he also bagged the Best Actor Award at the Chunsa Film Art Awards 2021, also known as the 26th Chunsa International Film Festival, for his role as Kim Tae-ho in the movie Space Sweepers. Song Joong-ki's agency and management company, History D&C, was so proud of his recognition; it shared a number of his photos with his award online.
