Lisa Bonet allegedly "resented" the busy schedule and distance between her and Jason Momoa. This is what caused the couple of 17 years to part ways, a source told Star for its January 31 issue.

The pair, who tied the knot more than four years ago, reportedly tried to make it all work for the sake of their children. However, they ended up splitting, with the insider claiming that it was a decision the two celebrities deemed "better for everyone."

The same informant noted that the strain in the relationship started when Momoa "became a hot commodity in Hollywood." He was always away from home, which was said to be not okay with his then-wife.

Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are now reportedly "doing their best to keep things amicable." Despite this, though, "they just cannot love together anymore."

The insider did not share any evidence to prove the claims. Accordingly, no one knows what truly caused the split between the two celebrities.

Bonet and Momoa did confirm their split, however, earlier this month through an Instagram post. In a joint statement on the "Aquaman" actor's account, they said that "a revolution is unfolding" and their family is "of no exception."

The statement continued that they shared their decision with the public to allow them to go on with their lives "with dignity and honesty." Although they were parting ways, the love between them "carries on."

Meanwhile, a different source spoke with People and asserted that the separation did not happen overnight. They were reportedly "amazing for years, until they no longer were."

It is, also, claimed that Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet "have grown apart because of different focuses." Their respective careers have led them in different directions.

Whatever the reason behind, though, the tipster revealed that the now-former couple are both "mature," adding that they will "keep peace" as they are spiritual individuals, who believe in a higher power. It will not reportedly become a "scandalous divorce where they trash talk each other" before the public.

Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet first met through mutual friends in 2004. Although the "Cosby Show" actress could not say it was "full-on," she shared in an interview that they had been together from the moment they met.

Three years later, the then-couple welcomed their first child. At that time, Bonet was already a mother to the then-18-year-old Zoë Kravits, whom she shares with Lenny Kravitz.

Another addition to their family arrived in late 2008. But, it was not until nine years later that they tied the knot.
