Residents in select states will receive what can be considered a fourth stimulus check in 2022. With the economic hardships of the coronavirus pandemic still affecting millions of Americans, several states have taken matters into their own hands, which is excellent news for their residents.
2022 Stimulus Check in California
During the pandemic, Californians were properly taken care of by their state government, with the state organizing its high-profile Golden State Stimulus programs. According to Governor Gavin Newsom, Californians can expect a third check in 2022.
2022 Stimulus Check in New York
A stimulus fund worth slightly over $2 billion has been approved in New York to assist undocumented workers who were unable to collect the previous federal stimulus payouts. The Excluded Workers Fund was established, and money has already been distributed to workers who fall into this group and earned less than $26,208 in 2020. In 2022, this initiative will be expanded.
"The COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet and, as we continue our work to rebuild and recover, we know people are still in need," Gov. Kathy Hochul said.
"The Excluded Workers Fund is a critical lifeline to thousands of New Yorkers who were an integral part of keeping our state running during the worst moments of the pandemic, and that's why I have pushed to make sure we get money out the door as quickly as possible."
2022 Stimulus Check in Florida
Florida is another state that will receive a new stimulus check in 2022. The checks in this case are for school teachers as a thank you for their extra efforts during the pandemic. These stimulus payments are expected to be worth $1,000 each in 2022.
2022 Stimulus Check in Indiana
Indiana is considerably different from New York, but one thing residents have in common is that they may be eligible for stimulus funds in 2022. This is because the Indiana state government produced a shockingly large surplus last year, and the administration wants to share this with residents in the form of a $125 tax refund.
In the United States, calls for a fourth stimulus check are still being raised, with lawmakers and campaigners demanding greater help in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the onset of the pandemic, federal stimulus checks came to the rescue, but now it is up to the states to give new and varied economic initiatives that will be a welcome relief to families around the country.
