Prince Charles, reportedly, wants a slimmed-down monarchy, making many wonder what will be the future of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when their father ascends the throne. Will they still be part of the celebration after they step down as senior royals in 2020?
The answer is, of course, yes! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still a family and a royal correspondent suggests they will join Prince Charles on the Buckingham Palace balcony when he becomes King.
Christine Ross believes the Prince of Wales will want his son to be with him and his daughter-in-law, too, for a "large group shot," Express noted. Despite the issues of rift and other controversies, the Sussexes will still be part of the larger royal family.
In her talk on Us Weekly's Royally Us, she said the former husband of the late Princess Diana's reign would never be about the rift. Instead, it would be about the future of the monarchy.
"There is no precedent here because there really hasn't been a situation in so long where there's been an heir and an heir and an heir," she explained. Ross added the historical moment where the monarchy had Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George made them the front and center of the family.
So when he becomes King, Prince Charles may want to have a larger group shot of all the existing royal family members, including his brothers, uncles and other relatives. Of course, it will include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle if she wants to.
It has been said time and over again that the future King wants to give the monarchy a new look. He may slim down the realm under his reign, leaving just a handful of senior working royals, like his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, his oldest son and wife, Prince William and Kate Middleton, per The List.
His brother, Prince Edward, and wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, will join the fold. Of course, the known hard-working royal, Princess Anne, will be part of it.
If this happens, it will not only reduce the number of royal family members working for the monarchy. It will also save taxpayer money as non-working royals of the firm will not receive any of it.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might have also been part of the mix if they didn't decide to leave the monarch. Royal expert Robert Jobson revealed it would be the future of the royal family and they are doing "a lot more together now."
