Barely three months into a romance, many netizens expressed their disappointment over what happened. Some fans said the public should have just left them alone to continue their relationship, AllKpop noted.

Others added it was sad that people did not let them be and continue what they had. Surely, the attention that they had received had been stressful for them.

One netizen suggested it might even affect Hwang Ui Jo's game performance. In addition, some cannot help but feel sorry for what a beautiful couple they could have been.

However, one said that if they really liked each other, Hwang Ui Jo and Hyomin should have just continued dating despite how overwhelming the situation was.

Meanwhile, Hyomin's managing agent broke its silence about the controversy its talent had been involved in, per Soompi. It confirmed the couple had decided to break up after it shared its position about the dating news that broke out in January.

At the time, the company revealed they were indeed seeing each other "with good feelings." However, due to the pressure of the situation, they naturally grew apart.

"They have now decided to remain acquaintances who support each other," it said. It also brushed on the issues about Hyomin and Hwang Ui Jo's decision to stay mum about the rumors.

It stressed that neither had management agencies that could do official duties and release a statement. So, it asked for everyone's understanding about their situation and why they could not give a quick response to every question thrown at them.

Hyomin was originally a part of the girl group T-ara and debuted in 2009. Since then, she and the other girls have received much love, thanks to their hit songs and unique performance.

Their latest comeback happened in November 2021, dropping the new song, "TIKI TAKA." Hwang Ui Jo, alternatively, started as a soccer player in 2013 and earned several awards, like Asian Games top goalscorer and Korean FA Player of the Year.
