Sure, fans are already used to seeing Nam Joo Hyuk playing the role of Baek Yi Jin, but there will be a time another actor has to play the adult version of him. As Twenty Five Twenty One alternates between the past and the present, will fans see Gong Yoo in it?
Koreaboo noted an older Baek Yi Jin is about to be introduced soon after being mentioned in present-day scenes. In Episode 4, Shin Jae Kyung was looking at a photograph of her group of friends when they were young and told Na Hui Do she "met him recently."
As Kim So Hyun is playing the role of the adult Na Hee Do, who will play the older version of Baek Yi Jin? Though fans have a lot in mind, the one on the top of the list is Gong Yoo.
So, why the "Train to Busan" star? Aside from making an appearance in a number of Netflix shows, like "Squid Game" and "The Silent Sea," he is at the perfect age to portray an adult Baek Yi Jin.
He also shared some snaps, showing himself watching Twenty Five Twenty One, particularly a shot of Nam Joon Hyuk. Though some just saw it as a simple post, others said it was a hint of his coming to the series.
Meanwhile, the series continuously dominates this week's rankings of the most buzzworthy dramas and actors, per Soompi. In fact, it has secured the no. 1 spot on Good Date Corporation's weekly list of the dramas that generated the most buzz for the fourth consecutive week.
The company determines the ranking every week by gathering data from news articles, blog posts, online communities, video and social media posts about the series that is currently airing or about to be released.
Aside from topping the list of the most buzzworthy dramas, its stars also take the top three of the most buzzworthy cast members. Kim Tae Ri, Nam Joo Hyuk and WJSN's Bona took over the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 ranks, respectively. So, it looks like fans have a lot to wait and see as Twenty Five Twenty One continuously conquers the small screen.
