While fans are waiting for "Chainsaw Man" Part 2 and its anime adaptation of the same name, its creator, Tatsuki Fujimoto, drops a new one-shot titled "Goodbye, Eri." The mangaka has been teasing the release of this yomikiri and it is definitely a must-see for the awaiting fans.

"Goodbye, Eri" officially went live on Sunday, April 10. So, does this mean "Chainsaw Man" Part 2 will be out soon?

The new one-shot is just one of the many yomikiris Fujimoto has dropped over the years. He first released a special in 2011, followed by several more in 2013, Comicbook noted.

So far, he has published 13 one-shots that are both lengthy and shot and his most notable one is "Look Back," which was dropped in 2021. It can't be denied that his most famous work is "Chainsaw Man," which second part and anime adaptation have been long-awaited.

His first serialization started in 2016 under Shonen Jump. Titled "Fire Punch," it was a very violent manga that received mixed reviews.

It was followed by "Chainsaw Man" in 2018, which ultimately became a global hit. Fans will soon see its anime adaptation this year under MAPPA's production and Fujimoto himself teases there is more to come to the manga series after the end of its manga's first part.

There are theories that "Chainsaw Man" Part 2 will be out later this summer, while its anime will be out sometime this year. However, there are no words yet about the official release dates for both.

So, fans have been looking forward to knowing more details, and it may probably come soon. For now, all eyes are on the newly-released "Goodbye, Eri" and the story it has to tell.

So, what is it all about? The new one-shot is said to be 200 pages long, so it is quite a read.

There are very few details about what fans can expect in this new story. The story summary posted on Shueisha's website introduced Yuta and how he tried to capture his dying mother's last days on his phone.

He heads to the hospital's roof when her mother dies to kill himself. However, he instead meets a strange woman and ends up making a movie.

From there, the story of "Goodbye, Eri" begins. Fans who want to read this new one-shot can head to Viz Media's website and enjoy Fujimoto's latest offering for free. This one is said to ease the wait for the manga creator's popular franchise, "Chainsaw Man."
