Meghan Markle's sister, Samantha Markle, reveals their father, Thomas Markle, is currently in the hospital and seems to blame Prince Harry's wife for it. The Duchess of Sussex's sibling claims the former actress has been torturing their dad by allegedly disregarding him.
Thomas Markle reportedly suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital on Monday, May 23, after being unable to talk. In a statement released by Samantha Markle, she once again hit out at Meghan Markle and said she was "unforgivable."
Samantha said, via Express, that senior Markle is "recovering in hospital" and asked for privacy for the family for his health and wellbeing. She added he needs peace and rest and they are all praying for his speedy recovery.
"It's a travesty how much he's been tortured and how much he's had to go through thanks to my sister's disregard the past few years," she told Daily Mail. "That is unforgivable."
Thomas was reportedly loaded in an ambulance in Tijuana by paramedics at about 9:30 in the evening. TMZ revealed he could not speak, so he was forced to write his symptoms down.
He was pictured breathing through an oxygen mask and was later thought to have been transported to a hospital in Chula Vista, California.
Meanwhile, the strain in the Markle sisters' relationship continues. In fact, Samantha wants Meghan to be questioned in a video for the defamation case she filed against her, seeking £60,000 in damages.
Samantha claims Meghan's revelation about her childhood during her tell-all TV interview with Oprah Winfrey has ruined her reputation. Meghan has already filed a motion to dismiss the case.
Samantha's lawyer, Jamie Alan Sasson, told the Mirror that they intend to bring the case to a "jury trial." They seem to be quite sure that they will get past the motion to dismiss and expect to start taking depositions within the next six months.
Sasson added they could even make a move to ask for evidence from Prince Harry, though he could refuse. He believed the Duke of Sussex had relevant information to support the case.
Meanwhile, in Meghan's motion, his lawyers said Samantha's defamation case is "without any merit," per Daily Record. The latter has until June 3 to file a response, which a US federal judge will consider and rule on whether the case will proceed.
Meghan Markle's legal team is composed of high-flying lawyers, like Ronnie Bitman, who represented Michael Jackson, and Michael Kump, who represents Kim Kardashian.
