Despite the controversy, Psy's summer water concert "Summer Swag 2022" is undeniably sought-after. In fact, the online webpage where fans can buy their tickets has crashed due to the number of people trying to access the site at once.

The "Summer Swag 2022" reservation started on Thursday, June 16, at 8 p.m. on Interpark Ticket. However, it looked like the transactions couldn't push through as it eventually crashed.

AllKpop noted the website was flooded with users after the ticket reservation started. Hence, many netizens expressed their frustration with what happened.

Also known as the "Soak Show," the event would be held for seven weeks, from July 9 to August 20, in seven cities across the country. It would take place in Incheon, Seoul, Suwon, Gangneung, Yeosu, Daegu, and Busan.

However, it looks like one of the events is already canceled. In a post on Instagram, via KBIZoom, the "That That" hitmaker announced the cancellation of the Cheongju concert, which was first moved on August 27.

Psy didn't reveal the reason for the cancellation, but he noted it was because of "inevitable reasons." He then acknowledged that a lot of people had already prepared for the event in Chungcheong-do, so he was sorry for being unable to make it happen.

"I would like to deliver my regret to the audience who have expected and waited for the show in Chungcheong-do," he continued. "I promise to visit you with a better performance in the future."

Anyhow, it seems like there's nothing that can stop the P-Nation founder's much-awaited summer concert. The event will be back after three years.

It will begin at Asiad Main Stadium in Incheon on July 9, followed by Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on July 15, 16 and 17, Suwon World Cup Stadium on July 23 and Gangneung Sports Complex on July 30. He will then take the event at Jinnam Sports Complex in Yeosu on August 6, Daegu Stadium Main Stadium on August 13 and 14 and Busan Asiad Auxiliary Stadium on August 20.

Meanwhile, "Summer Swag 2022" is met with controversy due to the ongoing drought in the country. Each event is known for using 300 tons of water to spray on the people.

Hence, netizens believe the water will be much better used elsewhere, like donating it to the farmers. One fan says that only when the Han River dries up will everyone take climate change seriously, per Koreaboo. However, some come to Psy's defense, saying water parks and swimming pools shall also be closed amid the calamity.
