Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to be having an issue with their Netflix deal after a royal expert claimed they had given content away for free after holding an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. So, what will happen to their lucrative contract?

For context, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a money-spinning deal reportedly worth $25 million with Netflix in 2020 to host and produce content. However, after their Oprah Winfrey interview, it looks like they have no bombshell revelations to feature anymore.

Angela Mollard said on the Australian morning show "Sunrise," via Express, that the couple seemed to "give away" content for free during their controversial 2021 interview. She claimed that the Sussexes gave the Queen of All Media a lot, asking what exclusivity they would give Netflix if they were to do a documentary on the streaming giant.

She added that if she were the network's boss, she might question herself if she would be getting her money's worth with the former senior royals. "Voicing a couple of documentaries is really not cutting it," she continued.

Mollard explained that there should be "an alignment of brands" and she believed it wasn't happening at this moment. This claim came after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were said to be caught in the "mess" with their "fly on the wall Netflix documentary."

Allegedly, the two planned to have photos with Queen Elizabeth II during their return to the U.K. for the Platinum Jubilee weekend in June-their first time together after Megxit. However, that plan was reportedly dismantled when palace aides stopped them from doing so amid the claims they were working on a Netflix documentary.

Russell Myers told Today, also through Express, that no official photography occurred when Her Majesty met her great-granddaughter Lilibet. There were also reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted their friend, Misan Harriman, to come and have a picture with the Queen, but the palace refused.

In related news, Netflix reportedly canned the broadcast of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's trip to New York. The two went to the Big Apple in October, doing their first pubic appearance together after Lilibet's birth.

There, they met dignitaries, including the city's mayor Bill de Blasio. The event drew comparisons to a royal outing, resulting in commentators suggesting they were setting up a "rival royal family."

Royal commentator Neil Sean said, per Daily Star, that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hoped to produce content for Netflix through their "fake royal tour," but it was put on the shelf. He claimed that it might have been "The World of Harry and Meghan" that would show their good deeds and work, but he believed it wasn't enough to create a hit show.
