Buckingham Palace has set a date for King Charles III's coronation, which will be on May 6, 2023, coinciding with the birthday of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's firstborn, Archie. The big question is, will the Sussexes attend the historical event?

A lot has been said about the date of King Charles' crowning, setting it on the same day as Archie's fourth birthday. This seems to make Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attendance quite unsure, but a royal expert reveals they will surely be invited.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Katie Nicholl revealed the newly-reigned King and Queen Consort wanted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be with them at their special event. Camilla,

Queen Consort has done everything she can to bring the royal family together.

She even stresses the importance of moving on from the so-called royal feud. So, she will be pleased to have his youngest stepson and wife at the coronation.

However, Nicholl emphasized that it remains to be seen if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the event. It will be their sole decision whether they want to come over for His Majesty's crowning or not.

She also explained that King Charles didn't intend to "snub" them by setting the date on their son's birthday. She even called it a "happy coincidence" as a huge amount of planning had to happen to create an important moment in history.

"The royal calendar is full of anniversaries and birthdays," she stated. "So, I think this is absolutely one of those occasions where it's a coincidence and hopefully a happy coincidence."

On the other hand, royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's attendance at the ceremony wouldn't be guaranteed. He told Express that the royal couple's presence might not be given.

He then explained that they were only there at Queen Elizabeth II's passing and mourning by coincidence. At the time, they were in London and Manchester for a promotional tour of their own activities.

Hence, it was luck that they were able to make it to Windsor when Her Majesty died on September 8. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also at the Queen's funeral.

Meanwhile, King Charles' coronation will occur at Westminster Abby and be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. He will be crowned alongside Camilla.

In an announcement, the Palace revealed the event would "reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry."
