Meghan Markle didn't think she would return to Hollywood after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. But after deciding to step down as a senior royal, the Duchess of Sussex is back, and there's one project she's eyeing to doing.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have inked multimillion-dollar deals with Netflix to create scripted and non-scripted shows. Aside from their upcoming docuseries, which is getting controversial ahead of its release, the former actress wants to do something fun with Prince Harry.
"It doesn't always have to be so serious. Like a good rom-com. Don't we miss them? I miss them so much," she told Variety. There's one genre they will surely not do, though: horror.
The former "Suits" star stressed she and the Duke of Sussex would never do a horror movie. But don't get her wrong, they will not star these projects.
In fact, she said she's done with acting, though she "never says never." "But my intention is to absolutely not," she added.
Another content the Sussexes want to create is about their love story. She believes it's how people around the world connect with them, saying people love things about love.
She then reveals their definition of love is expansive, enlisting it to "partner love, self-love, and the love of community and family." They use these themes as the baseline of the future shows and documentaries they want to do.
Meanwhile, while talking about their documentary, Meghan Markle looks unpleased with its direction. After confirming that a docuseries indeed exists, she wishes that director Liz Garbus would have done it differently.
She stated that it's a nice feeling to trust someone with their story, calling Garbus a seasoned director whom she has long admired. However, she admitted that how he took things might differ from how they would have told it.
She then cleared that it was the exact reason why they weren't the ones telling their story, wanting it to go through someone else's lens. Page Six earlier claimed that Netflix executives and the series' filmmakers were confused about the difference between Prince Harry's comments in his upcoming book and Meghan Markle's statements in front of the camera.
This may have to do with the delay of their much-anticipated docuseries, as a senior Netflix source revealed "a lot in the show contradicted" what the fifth in line to the throne wrote in his memoir, finding it an issue. The streaming giant was supposed to drop Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's docuseries in December but allegedly decided to delay until 2023 after "The Crown" Season 5 backlash.
