Fans of the survival horror genre of video games rejoice as it appears that there are more than one "Silent Hill" games in the pipeline, starting with the remake of the well-loved "Silent Hill 2."

Konami, along with some surprising names, have announced an upcoming entry in the "Silent Hill" franchise entitled "Silent Hill: Townfall." The game is being developed by none other than No Code, which worked on "Stories Untold" and "Observation," and will be published by Annapurna Interactive, known for indie hits like "Stray," "Sayonara Wild Hearts," "Outer Wilds," and more.

Annapurna made the big reveal during the recent Silent Hill Transmission Livestream, IGN noted. The reveal came in the form of a video that runs for about a 1 minute and 4 seconds.

The video doesn't reveal much about the game, but it has that same unsettling feel normally found in a "Silent Hill" game. Characters aren't introduced, and the plot hasn't been revealed yet. It's still a mystery to date, which only adds to the excitement of waiting.

There are some details that are worth remembering in the teaser trailer, however. Scenes in the video swap between images of waves crashing at the shore, with the waves colored white at the start of the video, then turning red towards the end.

Some scenes also focus on a pocket CRTV which shows a few images on the screen, accompanied by a voice from the other end of the transmission. While it sounds like a recording, it could actually be part of a conversation between that person and whoever is near the device. This is currently unknown.

What's clear is that the voice is warning of incoming judgment and punishment. The voice admitted to have "done something so awful" that they are "stuck here in this place" and "being judged by these people." Towards the end, the voice says he is glad that he isn't there when what's coming for the person near the CRTV arrives.

The images on the CRTV do not reveal much, but if one were to look closely they'd find a bar graph, a meter reading of some kind, some sort of map, an ellipse indicating something is loading, text saying "flesh is weak," some sort of paved walkway, some hideous-looking humanoids creatures, a passageway with some pipes above, and then lastly the face of a man wearing eyeglasses.

Despite all of these details, it appears that nothing is clear at the moment. Annapurna, No Code, and Konami didn't mention any potential release date as well. This only means fans should wait for more details as they arrive.
