Fans can't help but think BIGBANG member Dong Youngbae or also famously known as Taeyang, will be making his much-awaited return after changing his social media accounts dark. So, does this mean he's preparing for something big?

Taeyang deleted all his posts on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 and 26. Not only that, but he also put the word "renewal" in his Instagram bio before it completely went black.

Naturally, fans think it means a contract renewal or an ending with his agency, YG Entertainment. It may also be about the possible release of his new music.

It has been a trend among artists to delete all their social media posts before they drop a new album, which seems to symbolize that something new is coming. Adele did the same in 2021 as a marketing movie, resulting in huge anticipation for her then-new album "30."

Beyonce also made the same move with her album "Renaissance," turning her page into the blank for almost a week in June before revealing the official release date.

That said, fans hope Taeyang's social media blanking means a new song or album will come from him. Since his discharge from the military service in November 2019, he has only dropped one song, "Still Life," with his fellow BIGBANG members G-Dragon, T.O.P, and Daesung.

The track has helped the second-generation K-pop group to revive and maintain their presence on the K-charts after being completely dominated by female K-pop bands. The song comes out in April, following the their four-year hiatus.

The boys have focused on their solo projects and activities since "MADE" was released in 2016. Taeyang has mostly stayed out of the spotlight, so it was a surprise when he graced the cover of Marie-Claire Korea in September.

His cover photo quickly went viral as he showed fans his new long hair. The K-pop star himself posted some of his latest pictures on Instagram, giving everyone a good look at his perfect physique.

With this update, fans can't help but ask questions about his return. He last treated his followers with a solo release in 2017 when he dropped his third solo album, "White Night," which was followed by a world tour.

He visited a whopping 19 cities across Asia and North America and held four shows in Japan. Five years later, fans are now looking forward to seeing Taeyang again and are clamoring to hear new music from him.
