Prince William may not be a fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new Netflix docuseries, "Harry & Meghan," but he has no plans to involve the Sussexes kids, Archie and Lilibet, in their row. The Prince of Wales and his wife, Kate Middleton, will reportedly send Christmas gifts to the former's only niece and nephew, though they want to clarify that it's not a move of an olive branch.
Prince William didn't reportedly like that Prince William and Meghan Markle included clips of their mother, Princess Diana's controversial "Panorama" interview in "Harry & Meghan." But as Christmas is coming, he and Kate Middleton still want to give Archie and Lilibet presents, though the Sussexes may receive nothing.
Royal expert Roya Nikkhah wrote in The Sunday Times, via Express, that the gifts are only for the little ones, indicating that the Wales have no plans to make peace with the controversial couple yet. It's just that the working senior royals don't want to deprive the kids of having Christmas presents under their tree from them.
And though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to have turned their backs on many royal traditions, they appear to keep the family gift-giving practices and will send presents to the Cambridge kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis. "There will be no presents exchanged between the adults," she stressed.
Nikkhah added that Prince William is still fond of his nephew and niece, despite not having the chance to meet them in person for the past year and a half. Marie Claire also noted that they have no plans to go to the U.K. to join the royal family's Christmas celebration at Sandringham, probably due to the mounting tensions brought by the recently dropped docuseries and the upcoming memoir, "Spare."
Meanwhile, despite the controversy and tension, Prince Harry is reportedly delighted with how "Harry & Meghan" turned out and expected it to pave the way for a royal reconciliation. He hopes the show will have the public and the royal family understand more about the suffering and hardships they have been through.
An unnamed insider, who's allegedly Princess Diana's close friend, told The Mirror that the 38-year-old is pleased with the docu's narrative and that he and Meghan Markle came across. They reportedly did it to share the truth about their lives and tell the story he wanted the world to know.
"[He] has absolutely no regrets," the insider continued. The pair even hopes that royal family members and courtiers will watch it and listen to their comments, though they know the other camp will never address it publicly.
Anyhow, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wish it will "prompt a greater understanding" from King Charles III, Prince William, and Kate Middleton of what they feel and experience in England, proving they still dream of reconciliation. The tipster continued that the so-called royal bad boy still loves his father and brother no matter what.
