She repeated the exact words that made Billy annoyed and took her from her collar, and let her go free after her presence disturbed him. Anya then realized Billy wouldn't hurt her until she was on the bus.
She refused to leave the bus, making Billy admire her bravery and solidarity. But Billy misunderstood the situation, thinking the kids weren't getting enough food at home, so they wanted to stick with them.
