BTS's J-Hope has now broken his silence over his upcoming military enlistment on a live broadcast on Weverse Sunday, February 26. BigHit Music broke the news about its talent's plan to terminate his enlistment postponement, starting his service sooner than expected.

J-Hope shared his honest feelings regarding his military service. This comes on the heels of the release of his documentary, "J-Hope in the Box," and upcoming new music.

The 29-year-old said his enlistment was something that he had continuously planned and thought about since last year. After Jin's enlistemet in December 2022, he started to ask himself when he should be enlisting.

This made him think it would be better to enlist and return as soon as possible to show his fans an "even better side" of himself. Hence, he came up with the decision to start his enlistment and cancel its postponement.

J-Hope added that he had already started the enlistment process but assured fans that they didn't have to be too sad because he wouldn't be enlisting immediately. So, he promised to do his best to film various things until he joined the army. "I think I will have a lot of things to show you," he concluded.

BigHit shared a brief statement about the idol's upcoming military enlistment on Sunday, also in a notice of Weverse. It informed fans that the BTS member had initiated the military enlistment process by applying for a termination of his enlistment postponement.

It then said it would inform fans of "further updates in due course." The company then asked fans for continued support and love for J-Hope until he completed his military service and safely returned. It also promised to give all the effort it could to support its artist.

Meanwhile, in another post, BigHit gave an update about the idol's upcoming new music release. It happily informed everyone that the singer would drop a solo single titled "On the Street" on March 3 at 2 p.m. KST.

J-Hope wrote the track to share his true feelings for his fans. The title referred to his roots, street dance, from which his dream to be an artist began.

It would also be the same path where he and his fans would continue to walk together. Hence, the label hoped the song would serve as a "meaningful gift" to everyone who continuously supported him, asking them to look forward to his new music.

J-Hope will be the second BTS member to enlist after Jin. He recently released his "J-Hope in the Box" documentary to detail his journey of producing his first official solo album, "Jack in the Box."
