All eyes are now on "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 217, as it may begin the fight with Yorozu and Sukuna. The King of Curses now possesses much greater power thanks to the mysterious bath.
The previous chapter saw the prepared bath for Sukuna while in Megumi's body. The said bath submerged Sukuna in a solution of Cursed Spirits, making him stronger and able to resist Megumi in "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 217.
With the looming fight between Sukuna and Yorozu, fans can expect the next issue to be action-packed. Here, readers will see more of Sukuna's powers and skills, which are much stronger than before.
It will also give fans a hint at Megumi's fate. Is he officially subdued after the bath? Does he still have a chance to fight Sukuna's control over him?
However, if "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 217 doesn't feature Yorozu and Sukuna's full fight, it may establish their upcoming battle by showing their incredible strengths. It may also reveal how these two know each other and the back story of their relationship.
Though the manga's creator Gege Akutami isn't known for interrupting fights to feature characters' origin stories, this may be different considering these characters' relevance. However, as the mangaka earlier revealed that the manga might end in a year, he might not have the time to go into full backstories but only glimpses.
The previous issue revealed Yorozu's love for Sukuna, revealing it was one-sided. But if Akutami makes an unexpected twist in the next chapter, it may feature Yuji, Maki, and others instead.
Yuji may be forced to accept his failure and ignorance, knowing he made the Binding Vow with Sukuna. From here, Yuta, Panda, Kinji, and other scattered forces of their group will reunite in "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 217 to confront Sukuna and Kenjaku.
It may then result in freeing Gojo. It may happen if Hana or Angel helps him to be released. It may also occur if Yuta copies their Cursed Techniques by making Rika consume Hana's severed arm.
Meanwhile, "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 216, "The Bath," saw Kenjaku telling Uraume he had made the Binding Vow to "end what was permanent" to facilitate the Culling Game's progress smoothly. His only chance to merge humanity with Tengen was to end the game, though he was more interested in the bath.
The bath helped Sukuna become closer to evil and suppress Megumi further by immersing his body in a distilled solution of Cursed Energy, which Uraume prepared by killing Cursed Spirits. Sukuna then asked Yoruzo's whereabouts, though he had no interest in her and wanted to kill the vessel Fushiguro to subdue Megumi.
"Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 217 will be out Sunday, March 19.
