BTS member Jimin has claimed the number one spot on the US Billboard main singles chart, the Hot 100, becoming the first K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat.

On the 3rd (local time), Billboard announced in a preview article for this week's chart that the title track "Like Crazy" from Jimin's first solo album "FACE" had entered the Hot 100 at number one.

With this achievement, Jimin has become the first K-pop solo artist to reach number one on the Hot 100. The previous highest record for a K-pop solo artist was held by Psy, who maintained the second spot for seven consecutive weeks with "Gangnam Style."

Additionally, Jimin has become the first K-pop artist to top the Hot 100 both as a group and solo artist. BTS has previously claimed the top spot on the Hot 100 with a total of six songs, including "Dynamite," "Butter," "Life Goes On," "Permission To Dance," the collaborative song "Savage Love," and "My Universe."

The Hot 100 chart ranks songs based on digital music streaming, downloads, and radio broadcast frequency. Billboard pointed out that "Like Crazy" had strong sales during the tally period, with a total of five versions released, including the original version, an English version, a Deep House remix, a UK Garage remix, and an instrumental version.

According to Billboard, "Like Crazy" recorded 254,000 downloads and CD single sales during the March 24-30 tally period. The song also had 10 million streams and 64,000 radio listeners.

The title track "Like Crazy" is a synth-pop genre song, featuring a strong synth sound and drumbeat that contrasts with Jimin's sorrowful vocal tone. The song's emotional lyrics depict a person who is tormented by the search for a loved one they dreamt of, getting lost in dazzling lights, but still wishing to remain in the dream forever.
