With King Charles III's coronation scheduled for Saturday, May 6, just a month away, speculation has been rife about whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will travel from California to attend the event. In response to the rumors, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's representative provided a statement to the BBC this week, indicating that the couple has yet to make a decision. According to the spokesperson, there is "no update on whether they [Harry and Meghan] were attending," as reported by the BBC.

This uncertainty follows Prince Harry's recent visit to London for a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Ltd, the publishers of the Daily Mail, in late March. In his witness statement, Harry criticized the royal family's handling of the British press, alleging that the institution had withheld information from him regarding the hacking of his phone by The Sun's publishers.

"The Institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN's phone hacking [News Group Newspapers, the publisher of The Sun] and that has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation," he stated.

Harry also shared that his experiences since stepping back from his senior royal family role and moving to the U.S. have been eye-opening. He said, "It is not an exaggeration to say that the bubble burst in terms of what I knew in 2020 when I moved out of the United Kingdom."

He further expressed his disappointment in the royal family's lack of action against the press for their "vicious persistent attacks on, harassment of and intrusive, sometimes racist articles concerning Meghan." The royal family is known for its "never complain, never explain" policy with the media.

The royal family has not commented on Harry's witness statement or its allegations. The relationship between Harry and Charles last made headlines when Harry and Meghan's spokesperson confirmed that Charles had instructed the couple to leave their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, last month.

At the time, royal reporter Omid Scobie reported for Yahoo! UK that sources claimed the couple was "left stunned" by Charles' decision. As speculation continues to swirl about whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the upcoming coronation, all eyes will be on their next move and any potential developments in their relationship with the royal family.
