Meghan Markle is preparing to relaunch her lifestyle blog, The Tig, which she closed down in 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly trademarked her website, according to The Sun, with a logo displaying a handwritten "Tig" and a full stop. The blog's name derives from her favorite wine, Tignanello.

The trademark filed with the US Trademark and Patent Office indicates that the revamped blog will feature content on food, fashion, travel, the arts, design, wellness, and conscious living. The application also states that the new "The Tig" will offer "commentary in the field of personal relationships" and serve as a platform for "non-downloadable articles, interviews, photographs, and commentary in the fields of arts and popular culture."

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams expressed his support for the relaunch, stating, "The Tig sounded rather imaginative. She had to give it up but it was always part of her personality. This is what she should do, focused on her own abilities as opposed to attacking the royal family," adding, "The Sussexes have been playing such destructive games. They need to create their own careers from their own talents."

The blog's relaunch could potentially generate substantial income for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, significantly more than the £60,000 ($80,000) she reportedly earned annually through advertising before closing the blog. With her royal status, she could now potentially earn millions.

David Olusegun, founder of Creative Control Ventures, explained that The Tig's relaunch "has the potential to be a positive move for Meghan's personal brand if done strategically and with a clear vision." He elaborated on several ways that the Duchess of Sussex could monetize her website, including partnering with like-minded brands for sponsored content, earning commissions by promoting relevant products or services, creating and selling branded merchandise, hosting events, and offering premium content such as e-books, courses, or coaching services.

Meghan Markle operated The Tig for two years while starring in the legal drama "Suits." She reportedly shut it down due to "intense media scrutiny" accompanying her relationship with Prince Harry. However, she has yet to confirm or provide further details about the blog's relaunch.

The news of The Tig's revival comes on the heels of Buckingham Palace's confirmation that Meghan will not accompany Prince Harry to King Charles III's coronation in London's Westminster Abbey on May 6. Instead, she will stay in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The date coincides with their son's fourth birthday, which may explain her decision to remain in the US.
