Meghan Markle has dismissed allegations that she leaked a letter she sent to King Charles III expressing concerns over racist comments made about her son, Prince Archie.

The Telegraph recently reported that in 2021, Markle had received a letter from the then Prince Charles following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which she claimed that someone in the royal family had made remarks about her unborn son's skin color. The Duchess responded with her own letter, addressing the "unconscious bias" within the family.

A spokesperson for Markle told Fox News Digital, "The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago." The spokesperson added, "Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous. We encourage tabloid media and various royal correspondents to stop the exhausting circus that they alone are creating."

Speculation that Markle herself leaked the story to the press prompted her to respond. The Telegraph reported that the Duchess feels her concerns have not been adequately addressed since the original correspondence, influencing her decision not to attend the King's coronation in two weeks.

The palace confirmed earlier this month that Prince Harry would attend his father's coronation, while Markle would stay home with their two children. "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th," the palace announced. "The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet," they added.

According to People magazine, Archie, who turns four the same weekend as his grandfather's coronation, will celebrate his birthday with his mother and sister instead of attending the multi-day event.

Markle is not entirely absent from the royal proceedings. In the official coronation souvenir program released last week, she is prominently featured with the rest of the royal family. The 84-page magazine includes a 2018 family portrait in which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex laugh together. The photo, taken for Charles' 70th birthday, shows King Charles holding a joyful Prince George, while Queen Camilla cuddles Princess Charlotte.

The picture captures a happier time, with brothers William and Harry smiling side by side, and Princess Catherine holding a baby Prince Louis.
