Renowned British socialite and royal commentator, Lady Colin Campbell, has made an assertion that Prince Harry sought legal advice "months ago" in the midst of supposed marital discord with Meghan Markle.

Campbell brought forward these claims in a discussion around speculations pertaining to the state of the Sussexes' marriage, which have been fueled by a recent report from The Telegraph's associate editor Camilla Tominey suggesting a divergence in the couple's paths after five years of matrimony.

In a conversation with GB News, Campbell praised Tominey's credibility, stating, "We know that anything Camilla says, if it's not accurate, it's because she was deliberately misinformed because Camilla is very, very sound." Following this, without revealing her sources, Campbell contended, "There have been problems in the marriage supposedly for some time. I have heard from five totally reliable sources that Harry called in the lawyers some months ago."

Campbell suggested that the Sussexes' public persona could be financially motivated and in conflict with behind-the-scenes realities. In light of Prince Harry's recent candid memoir, "Spare," she alluded to potential difficulties he may face if he attempts to navigate a split.

Business Times was unable to independently authenticate Campbell's statements.

While speaking to host Dan Wootton, Campbell admitted her uncertainty regarding the end of the royal couple's marriage, but indicated that Prince Harry might be legally disadvantaged, particularly concerning child custody.

During this dialogue, Wootton pointed out that unnamed sources close to the Sussexes maintain the couple's happiness.

British journalist Phil Dampier, a veteran reporter on royal affairs, noted on the program the absence of public celebration for the Sussexes' five-year anniversary, and Markle's minimal visibility during Prince Harry's book promotion. He commented, "I don't think things are going well," despite clarifying that he didn't have firm evidence to support these assumptions.

Previous speculation about the state of the Sussexes' marriage has come from Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler, who suggested Prince Harry remains in his marriage solely for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Further conjecture on this subject was voiced on Sky News Australia's "The Royal Report," where commentator Daisy Cousens echoed Burrell's assertions. She also posed the possibility that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have initiated these rumors themselves due to a perceived desire for public attention.
