One of America's top three music awards, the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), will be held today, May 20th. The awards ceremony is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 10 AM (Korean time).

The Billboard Music Awards, alongside the Grammy Awards and the American Music Awards, are recognized as one of the top three major music award ceremonies in the United States.

This year's Billboard Music Awards nominees include a substantial representation from Korean artists. Nominated in the 'Top Duo/Group' category is Fifty Fifty, while NewJeans secures a nomination in the 'Top Billboard Global Artist (Excluding US)' category, and BTS Jimin's 'Like Crazy' is up for 'Top Selling Song'.

The newly introduced K-pop categories feature nominations for Jimin, NewJeans, Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and TWICE in the 'Top Global K-Pop Artist' category. In the 'Top K-Pop Album' category, Jimin's 'FACE', NewJeans' 'Get Up', Stray Kids' '5-Star', TOMORROW X TOGETHER's 'The Name Chapter: TEMPTAION', and TWICE's 'READY TO BE' have been nominated.

Additionally, BLACKPINK, SUGA, and TWICE are competing in the 'Top K-Pop Touring Artist' category, while Fifty Fifty's 'Cupid', Jimin's 'Like Crazy', Jungkook's 'Seven', and NewJeans' 'Ditto' and 'OMG' vie for the 'Top Global K-Pop Song' trophy.

Both Stray Kids and NewJeans are scheduled to perform at the awards show. Stray Kids will present their title track 'CHEESE' from their third full album '5-Star' along with the title track 'ROCK' from their new album 'ROCKSTAR'. Meanwhile, NewJeans will perform their Billboard Hot 100 charting songs 'Super Shy' and 'OMG'.
