BTS member Jungkook has marked his presence as a 'Global Pop Star' by ranking 4th in the 'Most Streamed' category of Spotify for 2023.
According to Spotify's '2023 Wrapped' year-end campaign announced on November 30th, Jungkook's solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' secured the 4th position in the 'Top 10 Songs Globally'.
Spotify annually compiles users' listening data to present global music trends and streaming records. This year, the platform selected the top 10 most-streamed songs globally, with Jungkook ranking fourth following artists like Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Harry Styles, affirming his status as a globally dominant male solo artist.
'Seven' also claimed the top spot in 'Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year'. In this chart, 'Like Crazy', the title track from fellow BTS member Jimin's solo album 'FACE', secured the 3rd position.
BTS and Jungkook also shone in the artist-centric charts. They ranked first and third respectively in 'Global Top K-Pop Artists of the Year', which lists the most streamed K-Pop artists worldwide.
'Seven', marking Jungkook's debut as a solo artist, created a global buzz upon its release in July. The track debuted at number one on Billboard's main singles chart 'Hot 100' (dated July 29) and was also third in Spotify's 'Most Streamed Songs of Summer 2023' (globally).
With 'Seven', Jungkook made a significant impact in the pop music heartland. In September, he was the only K-Pop artist to be featured in The Hollywood Reporter's '25 Platinum Players in Music' list, which recognizes the top influential figures in the music industry who defined the year.
Following 'Seven', his subsequent solo singles '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' and the collaboration 'TOO MUCH' with The Kid LAROI and Central Cee, as well as his first solo album 'GOLDEN', swept major music charts worldwide. Jungkook has firmly established himself as a leading male solo artist of the 2020s.
