BLACKPINK has decided to continue their group activities under YG Entertainment (YG), while the status of individual contracts remains uncertain.

On December 6, YG announced, "After careful discussions, we have signed an exclusive contract for group activities with BLACKPINK, based on deep trust." With this agreement, BLACKPINK will release new albums and embark on another massive world tour under YG's support, reciprocating the love of fans worldwide.

Yang Hyun-suk, the chief producer at YG, expressed his happiness about continuing the relationship with BLACKPINK, saying, "We will continue to do our best to ensure BLACKPINK shines even brighter in the global music market as they represent not just our agency but also K-pop. We send our unwavering support and trust in their journey."

However, this renewal is specific to group activities, and individual contracts for each of the four members are still under negotiation. Numerous rumors have circulated since September regarding BLACKPINK's renewal, ranging from starting a solo agency to individual renewals and hefty contract fees. Eventually, YG successfully renewed the contract for the group's activities, providing a moment of relief.

All four members of BLACKPINK have excelled in group activities while also thriving as solo artists and actors. Predictions suggest they may follow the 'together yet separate' approach, where they handle individual activities with different agencies while continuing team activities under YG.

Since their debut in August 2016, BLACKPINK celebrated their 7th anniversary this year. Their exclusive contract with YG expired last August, but they have now officially renewed their contract for group activities after approximately four months.

BLACKPINK has left a monumental mark in K-pop history, becoming the first K-pop girl group to achieve double million-seller status, topping the U.S. Billboard 200, and being the first Asian artist to headline Coachella and Hyde Park, among other achievements.

From October last year, BLACKPINK held the 'Born Pink' tour across 34 cities, totaling 66 shows, and attracted approximately 1.8 million attendees. During their 'BLACKPINK World Tour 'Born Pink' Finale in Seoul' held last September in Guro-gu, Seoul, they promised their fans, "Thank you for being with us from the start; let's be together for a long time. We'll continue to be an amazing BLACKPINK."

Fans are eager to see the synergy that the top-tier girl group BLACKPINK will bring as they fulfill their promise to stay together for a long time.
