BTS has placed several works in 'Album of the Year' and 'Song of the Year' as selected by leading international media outlets.

On December 4 (local time), the American music publication Consequence of Sound listed Suga's (under his alias Agust D) album 'D-DAY', released in April, at the 27th spot in 'The 50 Best Albums of 2023'. The publication praised, "Agust D's third and trilogy-completing album 'D-DAY' is one of Suga's finest as a solo artist. Listeners can't help but believe Suga when he says 'the future will be alright'."

The British magazine TimeOut included V's first solo album 'Layover', released in September, in 'The 30 Best Albums of 2023' at 19th place. TimeOut commented, "In his six-track album, V showcases a jazzy R&B genre with his husky yet sweet baritone, evoking nostalgia. If you love Neo soul legend Maxwell, you'll surely appreciate V's work."

American media outlet UPROXX counted Jungkook's first solo album 'GOLDEN', released in November, among 'The Best Albums Of 2023'. UPROXX highly praised Jungkook, stating, "Jungkook has proven to be a 'pop sensation' not only as a group member but also solo." The media added, "Tracks like the romantic 'Standing Next to You', rhythmic '3D', and poignant ballad 'Hate You' are sure to become timeless classics."

'GOLDEN' was also included in The New York Times' 'Best Albums of 2023', reinforcing Jungkook's status as a 'global pop star'.

Additionally, Rolling Stone featured works by BTS members in their 'Album and Song of the Year' lists. Rolling Stone ranked Suga's 'D-DAY' 69th in 'The 100 Best Albums of 2023', describing the album as "packed with ten tracks exploring the concept of freedom through lyrics and music."

The magazine also placed a track from V's first solo album 'Layover', 'Rainy Days', at 58th in 'The 100 Best Songs of 2023'. Rolling Stone commented, "Each BTS member's solo work reveals their unique musical identity. V demonstrated his ability to handle old-school genres with this song, combining piano sounds, slow beats, and his baritone voice." Jungkook's solo single 'Seven' ranked 99th and was praised for "Jungkook's soulful vocals accentuated by the fluctuating garage beat."
