Hollywood power couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage is reportedly "not in the best place at the moment," according to a source close to Lopez who spoke to People magazine. The revelation comes less than two years after the couple's high-profile elopement in Las Vegas and subsequent reception in Georgia, which Lopez described as a "dream."

The source attributes the current marital issues to the couple's differing personalities and approaches to privacy. "She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world," the music source says of Lopez, who is currently residing in the couple's $60 million Beverly Hills marital home while Affleck stays in a nearby rental. "He is more introspective and private. This has been difficult day-to-day."

These differences were openly discussed in Lopez's recent documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which premiered on Prime Video in February. In the documentary, Affleck addressed his concerns about rekindling their romance in 2021, 17 years after their initial relationship ended due to intense media scrutiny. "Getting back together, I said, 'Listen, one of the things I don't want is a relationship on social media,'" Affleck said. "Then I sort of realized it's not a fair thing to ask. It's sort of like, you're gonna marry a boat captain and you go, 'Well, I don't like the water.'"

Despite Affleck's participation in the documentary and other projects, such as Lopez's 2002 music video for "Jenny From the Block," a film source suggests that he has never been entirely comfortable showcasing their romance to the world. However, he has also been hesitant to stand in the way of Lopez's artistic expression. "He's always been impressed about how she works so hard and has achieved so much success," the film source notes. "But the openness and promotion is not his way."

The couple's differing lifestyles have also contributed to the current marital strain. The film source reveals that Lopez, who is self-financing her upcoming movie This is Me...Now: A Love Story and an accompanying documentary, as well as launching a 30-show North American tour this summer to promote her new album, can become frustrated that Affleck is not as "structured or disciplined in general as Jennifer." However, the source emphasizes that "this is not a bad thing. But it causes frustration."

As for the future of their relationship, the film source admits that it's too soon to predict the outcome. "I don't know if they will split, or if this is something they will work through," the source says. Despite their current problems, Lopez and Affleck share a deep bond that spans two decades. "There have always been clashes in their styles and how they handle issues, but nothing has stopped their love over the years," the music source adds.

The couple, who share a blended family with Lopez's 16-year-old twins Max and Emme from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony, and Affleck's three children - Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Sam, 12 - with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, are now faced with the challenge of finding a compromise that works for their relationship while navigating their individual careers and lifestyles.
