London-based writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue has speculated on the state of the couple's marriage, as reported by Pinkvilla, stating in an interview with Sky News on Monday, June 10, "I suppose it is quite painful for him, and, obviously, Meghan didn't grow up in the Royal Family; she doesn't have those deep ties." Krakue pointed out that the exclusion of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from participating in royal family events is "painful" for Prince Harry, given their heritage.
While Markle is rumored to have "moved on" from the British Royal household, Prince Harry is reportedly finding it difficult to sever all ties with his family. This conflict of interest may have caused "tensions" in their marriage, according to the source. Krakue also suggested that the Duke of Sussex's loss of his military titles, as a result of their exit from the royal family, may have "wounded" him the most.
Furthermore, Markle's somewhat estranged relationship with her own family is seen as a factor that may prevent her from fully understanding Prince Harry's despair. Earlier reports have also surfaced about Prince Harry's alleged fear of the possibility of the former actress leaving him amidst the ongoing family drama.
Experts claim that tensions have been present since Meghan Markle's entry into the royal family in 2018. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told The Mirror that Markle "disrupted" Prince Harry's close relationship with his sister-in-law, Princess Kate, and the Royal Family overall. "And then Meghan came into the mix, and it was disruptive. It wasn't like the other girlfriends," Seward said.
