During an appearance on "Anderson Cooper 360" on Monday, June 24, journalist Maggie Haberman offered her opinion on Donald Trump's possible debate approach.
At a campaign event this past weekend, the 78-year-old asked the audience if he should be "tough and nasty" or "nice and calm" when he faces President Joe Biden on June 27.
According to Maggie, Donald "poll tests" his behavior in advance of public events to determine what will "please the crowd" at that particular moment.
"He's been poll testing everyone about VP at various fundraisers and this is along the same lines," she continued. "I was thinking, though, as he was saying that, I think he will be both."
The beleaguered former presidential candidate, who is infamous for hurling jabs and losing his cool, will probably "interrupt less" than he did during the 2020 presidential debates, according to the CNN pundit.
"I think that's the lesson - main lesson he took from the last debate or their first debate in 2020," Maggie explained. "And I think he will be very mean toward Biden. I will be very surprised if he is anything other than that."
Host Anderson Cooper brought up Donald's unpredictable debate performance at another juncture in their conversation.
"He has no shame and he makes stuff up, but it's very inconsistent," he shared. "One moment it's-he's a worthy debater and then it's, 'He's going to be doing massive amounts of cocaine.'"
According to Maggie's prediction, this probably happens because the controversial politician's team wants him to do one thing, but Donald might choose to do something different while occasionally following the original plan.
"We know that he has been preparing for this debate in the way he does with sort of policy sessions as opposed to classic, you know, behind the podium matches," she continued. "But whether he is going to absorb what he's learning there and whether he is going to come in, you know, interrupting President Biden less than he did in 2020 in their first debate is an open question because he does what he wants to do."
According to OK!, Donald has made several suggestions in the days preceding the much-awaited debate that President Joe might be under the influence of narcotics when he hits the stage on Thursday, June 27.
"So, a little before debate time, he gets a shot in the a--," he alleged at a June rally. "I say he'll come out all jacked up, right? ... I'm sure he'll be prepared."
Additionally, Donald implied that the president was in charge of bringing the cocaine into the White House, which prompted an investigation in July 2023. He also described Joe as the "worst debater," as per NBC News, and the "WORST President in the history of the United States."
Joe was always criticized for his various inaccuracies in the past. From mispronouncing phrases on the teleprompter to conflating nations like China and Canada when making addresses at political gatherings, he was consistently in error.
