With a gaudy promotion of her new moneymaking business, Meghan Markle, the publicity-obsessed wife of Prince Harry, is being criticized for her cruel attempt to upstage her sister-in-law, Princess Kate, who is battling illness.
Meghan, who is 42 years old, unveiled two new products in her snooty lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, just hours before she made her eagerly anticipated return to the public eye since she disappeared for secret medical treatments in January.
A friend posted photos of her raspberry jam and dog biscuits on social media without showing any regard for taste.
The callous and cash-spinning attempt made by the former Suits actress was met with severe and immediate criticism, which was explosive.
“This was no coincidence. This was a blatant attempt to steal the limelight from courageous Kate. How could Meghan stoop so low when both Kate and King Charles are showing incredible strength while battling cancer? Frankly Meghan’s childish and narcissistic behavior is becoming increasingly desperate and bizarre,” a high-level palace courtier told Globe Magazine.
The controversy broke out a few hours after Kate made the unexpected revelation that she would be attending Trooping the Colour, the customary birthday parade for the monarch, which takes place on June 15. This was her first public engagement since she disclosed that she was beginning chemotherapy treatment for cancer, as per CBS News.
Nacho Figueras, a polo champion and a close friend of Harry and his wife, shared photographs of Meghan's new jam and dog biscuits to Instagram just before she arrived with her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. The children are Prince George, Prince Charlotte, and Prince Louis, respectively.
“This was really catty and unnecessary. Obviously Nacho had permission from Meghan. You don’t go posting a gift from Meghan without it,” royal commentator Kinsey Schofield claimed.
In spite of the fact that they are deeply estranged from the royal family and will be leaving their palace duties in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan were not invited to attend the birthday parade, as per Daily Mail.
“I doubt if anyone noticed they weren’t there. But I wonder if promoting her products was retaliation by Meghan! Being snubbed again must have crushed her. She needs her royal connections if she hopes to sell her jams and dog biscuits!” the royal courtier said.
“The reality is the Sussexes have burned so many bridges and trying to upstage Kate is just another nail in their royal coffin. When will Meghan realize she can never outshine Kate — not now, not ever,” it went on.
