As an actor, Armie Hammer has been able to successfully navigate the challenges of being labeled a cannibal, being accused of sexual assault, and having a career that was once thriving fall down the toilet.

“I’ve never been happier … in my entire life. The good place only comes from walking through hell,” the 37-year-old “Social Network” star stated.

Armie's poor behavior not only resulted in the dissolution of his marriage to Elizabeth Chambers, a television star, but it also persuaded him to seek treatment for his addictions to alcohol, drugs, and sexual activity, The National Enquirer reported.

“Therapy for me has been a life changer. I needed an adjustment,” Armie explained on a recent podcast. He went on to say that the scandals that killed his career also ended up saving his life.

“Here’s what I think would have happened had none of this gone on. The cataclysmic tectonic shift in my life wouldn’t have happened. My life would have kept going exactly as it was, and I know that would ultimately only lead in one place, and that’s death,” Armie stated.

Dru Hammer, Armie's mother, stated that the actor from "Sorry to Bother You" is "happier than he's ever been" after publicly addressing the aftermath from the scandal surrounding his allegations of cannibalism and abuse.

Dru was asked to explain on how the years-long scandal has affected the rest of the family as she was speaking with a paparazzo from TMZ on Friday. In addition, she was particularly questioned about the alleged cannibalism, which prompted her to state that her son's acts were "not criminally wrong" in any way.

"I was very careful during the whole ordeal because my own son didn’t come out and defend himself. I had a pastor say one time, 'If you come to your own defense, it’s the only defense you’re ever gonna have.' So we believe that God is our defense, and now the truth is coming out. As he spoke on Piers Morgan and Bill Maher, he was not criminally wrong, he was morally wrong but has changed his life forever. He’s sober and he’s happier than he’s ever been and coming back to God, and that’s the most important thing to me,” Dru stated.

In May 2023, shortly after it was reported that he would not be facing charges, Armie posted a statement on social media in which he referred to the "long, difficult" path that lay ahead of him from that point forward.

"I am very grateful to the District Attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and coming to the conclusion that I have stood by this entire time, that no crime was committed," Armie said at the time.

The actor is currently in the midst of the release of the aforementioned sit-down with Piers Morgan. During the interview, Armie was bluntly asked, "Are you a cannibal?" as you have probably heard, at least in excerpts.
"No. You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to have actually eaten someone. … Not a question I thought I’d ever have to answer, by the way,” the actor stated.
